Bad Karma

ok I felt too guilty (and also a little afraid of some pictures of myself that may get out) So here's a picture he was willing to tag on facebook so is fair game.

Fixed Links

I know people were having a hard time procrastinating at work because the Langerado pictures link was broken. It is fixed now :)

I also fixed the Glamorizing Violence link.

Cooking Tag

I am going to blame Julie for getting no work done at all today

1- Can you cook? If yes, do you like to cook?
I can, I don't mind sometimes. In the days without a meal plan I cooked and Colleen did dishes. I hate doing dishes. I also hate baking.

2 - When does your whole family come together to eat?
Never. My immediate family (ie. mom and sisters) eat together on holidays and some select weekends. I think Christmas was the last time my father and sisters ate together (and the first time I remember since we were tiny) and my whole extended family - no clue, perhaps a reunion?

3 - What do you have for breakfast?
If I don't skip, some trailmix or cold cereal or an oatmeal cup - if it's special I go and get coffee and a bagel from the cafe

4 - When, where and how do you eat during the week?
I eat once a day either at the cafe or out of an outtakes bag while doing horrible things.

5 - How often do you eat out?
maybe twice a month?

6 - How often do you order-in or take-away?

7 - Re: 5 & 6 - If money was no question, would you like to do it more often?

8 - Are there any standards that make regular appearances on your table?
chicken, omelets, pizza

9 - Have you ever tried a recipe from another blog?
Julie's chocolate Guiness cake. It was HUGE and delicious!

10 - Are there any quarrels because of food?
no, i eat what I want

11 - Are you vegetarian or can you imagine living vegetarian?
I can imagine it - my sister is so when I go home I eat vegetarian, but I like my protein from time to time

12 - What would you like to try out that you haven’t dared yet?
I'd like to try more ethnic foods but I'm nervous that I'll hate it and my dining experience will be ruined

13 - Do you rather cook or bake?
Cook, Baking requires too much measuring. And also you can't add and make stuff up as much.

14 - What was the most terrible mess you made in the kitchen?
I'm totally clean. (but yea that Guiness cake was a doozy)

15 - What do your kids like to eat best? What would your kids never eat?
Ew Kids. But they will eat whatever I cook. And if not then they will not eat or have to make their own damn dinner.

16 - What do you dislike most?
Tomatoes. And condiments. And seafood. Maybe one or two other things.

Glamorizing violence

Dead women are sexy.

Song Tag (aka procrastination)

Julie tagged me a few days ago to do a music meme (I still don't know what meme means really) so here it is;

List seven songs you are into right now.
No matter what they are.
They must be songs you are presently enjoying.
Then tag seven other people to see what they’re listening to.

Amy Winehouse - Rehab
Peter Gabriel - Salsbury Hill
Citizen Cope - All Dressed Up
Gym Class Heroes - The Queen and I
Counting Crows - Daylight Fading
Phish w/ Alison Krauss - If I Could I Would
Ben Harper - Everything

I don't know anyone else with an active blog so I'm going to use the opportunity to call a DELURK - so post your responses in the comments :)

"I love it how she breathes booze in the morning..."

I heart girls nights :)

The Disco Biscuits Friday night at the Revolution

STS9, whom we saw twice - this is at the actual festival grounds

Lotus playing Around the World

I'll stop with the videos but Dan's pictures are up here

Eyes up here!

A study shows that while women focus mainly on the face, men will shift from the face to the groin. And this is with other men. Think about what the picture would be if the subject were a woman with big boobs...Actually...I'd probably look at those too...

Catch up

My birthday was amazing. Spring break went too fast. I'm too busy now trying to catch up on all the stuff I need to have done before the semester is over in 5 weeks to write about them. I will say there are some incriminating photos floating around.

I will take a moment to comment on how many times in the recent past I've been asked "so what are you doing after graduation?" (Which is still an agonizing 5 months away...) I have no idea of the answer so when I saw Julie's American cities quiz, I took it.

American Cities That Best Fit You::
65% San Diego
60% Honolulu
60% San Francisco
55% Austin
55% Denver

Interesting that there are 2 Californian cities. I definitately have to make a west coast tour at some point this summer...Who's goin with me???

That and money. And blow. And looks. Good luck.

Have I ever mentioned that I LOVE Dan Savage?

STD free's the way to be!

I do not have Chlamydia, Gonorrhea, Syphilis, HIV or strep. The strep is not an STD - but it would have been interesting to get those cultures mixed up...

The Dr. gave me the print out test results in case I wanted to frame them. I bought myself Dunkin Donuts to celebrate.

I'm quoted in the NU News about Roe v. Wade. It's an ok article, an unimpressive (but true) quote. Biggest qualm: what's with the confusion about EC and viability??? TOTALLY different things. I think she's using 'viability' to mean when life begins. Viability means "capable of living". VERY different things. For instance viability has nothing to do with a supposed "soul".

There are some other articles; one on Birth Control which basically says that women don't have enough education on how to most effectively take their pills. I can't imagine why with all the abstinence only curriculum Bush is cramming down school kid throats. (Which is why NSC is a member of the CARE for Youth coalition).

The other on Gardasil which you've heard me spew about before BUT I do want to highlight their expert's quote "First and foremost, the vaccine is to stop cancer, even if women do abstain from having sex, they can still get cervical cancer." - Dr. Gary Hall, medical director of University Health and Counseling Services. Yes abstinent women get cancer BUT Gardasil prevents an STD. It will only prevent cancer by first preventing an STD - which by definition requires sexual activity. Women who aren't having sex are not safer from having gotten the vaccine - they're still going to get cervical cancer.

Newsflash for those who think STDs are punishments for sex: People not having sex get cancer too. Shocking.
